Bali: Nusa Penida

I stood there on the soothing and relaxing beach at 6 ‘o'clock in the morning. In contradiction, the sea seemed rather angry. Unleashing stronger and bigger waves at the beach each time. Our boat was just a little ahead, not too deep into the water. It seemed to be doing a little dance on the waves.  Ropes were tied from the boat to the beach to keep the boat under control and help people climb on board. With slippers in one hand and the assisting rope in the other I carefully made my way through the waves to the boat. The cold water tickled me and schools of fish swam right in front of me. With the help of the crew members I finally climbed aboard. The boarding process was occasionally paused as tide grew rough, strong and tall. After a rather long wait, all members were aboard. The engines roared and we set sail.  The waves crashed, engines roared and people chattered and I slowly drifted off to sleep. After about half an hour the speakers barked. Alas! We h...

New York: Statue Of Liberty

With the harmonies playing in the ba...

One in a Million There I stood in the middle of the street and watched the world pass by. Tired working professionals in their sharp coats returning home from a long day of work. Tourists with layers of jackets, not used to the low temperatures carrying their many shopping bags. The energy was high, you could feel the happiness, you could see the joy. With a blink of an eye I could see a million shutters click and flash light shine in my eye. Temperatures so low, so cold, the wind sweeping you of your feet. Strong and fierce enough to drag you across the street. I look up to see the serene sky but all I see is many buildings with their advertisements lit up and glowing. I look at the ads which filled the sky, like none other. Reflecting the light stood several little snow-covered trees, shrubs and plants. The strong smell of freshly baked pretzels filled the air. Sirens blared and people chattered, my heart so loud, so audible, pounded right out of my chest. Pe...
