Bali: Nusa Penida

I stood there on the soothing and relaxing beach at 6 ‘o'clock in the morning. In contradiction, the sea seemed rather angry. Unleashing stronger and bigger waves at the beach each time. Our boat was just a little ahead, not too deep into the water. It seemed to be doing a little dance on the waves.  Ropes were tied from the boat to the beach to keep the boat under control and help people climb on board. With slippers in one hand and the assisting rope in the other I carefully made my way through the waves to the boat. The cold water tickled me and schools of fish swam right in front of me. With the help of the crew members I finally climbed aboard. The boarding process was occasionally paused as tide grew rough, strong and tall. After a rather long wait, all members were aboard. The engines roared and we set sail.  The waves crashed, engines roared and people chattered and I slowly drifted off to sleep. After about half an hour the speakers barked. Alas! We h...

New York: Statue Of Liberty

Image
I hopped on the boat and made my way up to the top deck. I could feel the boat tilted towards the back with some tourists taking picture of the land they left behind. The remaining? Attempting to balance the weight. I carefully watched the captain signalling his crew to draw back the anchor and untie the ropes. Crew carefully following orders and jumping back on the boat.                           Once everybody was on-board the captain announced safety measures of our journey. Evacuation plan, life jackets, crew members and the list can just go on. We then began our sail to the seven seas’… Wind whistled and choirs of birds sang. Walking carefully, avoiding little, courageous birds sitting on the deck not afraid of the humans passing by, I squeezed through the gaps and finally reached the rail to click pictures. With the harmonies playing in the ba...

Times Square

One in a Million There I stood in the middle of the street and watched the world pass by. Tired working professionals in their sharp coats returning home from a long day of work. Tourists with layers of jackets, not used to the low temperatures carrying their many shopping bags. The energy was high, you could feel the happiness, you could see the joy. With a blink of an eye I could see a million shutters click and flash light shine in my eye. Temperatures so low, so cold, the wind sweeping you of your feet. Strong and fierce enough to drag you across the street. I look up to see the serene sky but all I see is many buildings with their advertisements lit up and glowing. I look at the ads which filled the sky, like none other. Reflecting the light stood several little snow-covered trees, shrubs and plants. The strong smell of freshly baked pretzels filled the air. Sirens blared and people chattered, my heart so loud, so audible, pounded right out of my chest. Pe...

Royal Caribbean: Mariner Of The Seas

Image
Cruising in the middle of nowhere just you with your family and the breeze that gently strokes your skin. A huge mall with an hotel, along with the sensational view of the seven oceans. Having some of the best activities from this globe for its residents during the day and turns into one of the biggest party locations in the night... Welcome to Mariner of the Seas  I have been in more cruises than I can count but this particular cruise really caught my attention. One of the biggest problems for most people is too much to do but very little time. Well I was able to accomplish my goal of being able to do almost every activity that was offered. Not because the activities were very few but because the ship was made in a way by which one can get from place to place within a blink of an eye. With activities ranging from mini golf to ice skating, basketball to watching movie in the pool. Not to include the many shows, some world class people performed for us. The ice under the...

Cycling Around

No fun in visiting a city if you just go to the recommended tourist sites, if you want to really live the city one must try and live like a local, do everything what a local would do on a normal day. Thus this particular blog of mine would be focusing upon one aspect in which you could live the city of #Bled... For the ones who come from major big cities like New York, London, Mumbai and Sydney bled would be as big as your society. No matter which part of the city you live in, in the city of bled you would find cycles. In bled cycles is the key form of transportation, and almost all people own them. In your hotel you would find cycles to rent and you must take one for at least an hour if not 2. It is perfectly safe for both adults and children. Rent a bike and ride around the church which is located right in the center of the Bled lake. Which is 5.8km. Enjoy the cold breeze as it hits your skin, feel the wind as it relaxes your strained muscles after all the walking you did. Lea...

Mighty Mount Untersburg

Image
Listen to the cold wind as it whistles beautiful tunes and you are overlooking the beautiful city of Salzburg. Sitting on a bench with your family watching clouds pass below you. Mighty Mount Untersburg, 3500 feet above lies a beautiful base which can only be reached by a cable car ride which lasts 10 whole minutes. Untersburg a mountain located a little far away from the city but can easily be reached by taking bus number 25 which takes you directly to the mountain, and also takes you to the Helbrun palace where you can find the trick fountains. Once you reach there all you have to the do is buy a ticket or show your Salzburg card and wait for your turn. Take the cable car up. Watch how the city and mankind slowly disappears into the passing by clouds, breathe the fresh, refreshing air, feel the ground below your feet just slip away, shiver as the temperature slowly drops and yell as the cable car sways due to the fierce wind. Carefully walk out of the cable car onto some lan...

Living Greece In The Past

Image
Welcome back to my blog, I know I haven’t written in a while but I would like to share my experience about my trip to Athens, the capital of Greece. Talking about my travel I was there for six days out of which I had to attend a conference for three days and had three days for exploring the wonders of the city, well three days might seem short but not when you wake up at 5am and sleep late at 12.  To start with, the weather of Greece is just perfect in March, a perfect 15 degrees C. in the day and a cool 9 C. in the night. Not too cold neither too hot. I would suggest you carry at least one jacket or wind sheeter just in case. In many years of my travelling, this time as a first, I traveled with the help of a travel agency. Among the many good agencies, I selected 'Cox and Kings’. As people say tour agencies are too rushed, I did not even get a glimpse of that, as I got more than enough time to explore each and every place. I had more than enough time to hear the hi...
